6 DEGREES BELOW THE HORIZON

Excerpts from the music composed for the dance performance 6 Degrees Below the Horizon on a concept by Rena Konstantaki. 2011
A dance with shadows, shadows of others and shadows of ourselves, unknown parts. In maritime terminology, the term "6 degrees below the horizon" denotes the twilight. The sun appears 6 degrees below the horizon twice a day, in the dawn and in the sunset, in the beginning and in the end of the day. So, an intrinsic circularity characterizes the term "6 degrees below the horizon" which signifies the beginning and the end of a course, of a movement, of a journey or a process. Deterministically, the end leads to a new beginning and vice versa, every beginning comes after an end.
